Remote PD monitoring panels

Orana Electrical successfully delivered the installation and commissioning of a partial discharge (PD) remote monitoring panel for Incitec Pivot Fertilisers, supporting critical high voltage assets including SO₂ blower motors and the steam turbine.

The project involved integrating advanced PD monitoring technology to provide continuous, real-time condition monitoring of insulation systems within these high-value machines. By enabling early detection of insulation degradation, the system significantly reduces the risk of unplanned outages and supports proactive maintenance strategies.

Orana Electrical managed the full scope of works, including panel installation, cable terminations, system integration, testing, and commissioning. The solution was designed to seamlessly interface with existing plant infrastructure, ensuring reliable data acquisition and remote accessibility for asset monitoring teams.

This project enhances operational reliability, improves asset lifespan, and reinforces a data-driven approach to maintenance for critical rotating equipment.
